Aloo Matar Tahari is a simple vegetarian one-pot dish made Right now, I just want to share this delicious tahari recipe with you, it is a basic combination of  rice, potato with peas can be added vegetables by your choice even can be added chicken, beef or mutton for enhancing the taste additionally can be added stock as well

It’s simple and delicious rice that normally is served with raita and salad or kabab etc it is one of my favorite meals that I like to have with raita and chutney. Tahari is prepared from Basmati rice or Ponia rice,ponia rice is a kind of basmati that is a bit broken up a grain of rice. so here I am using ponia rice for making tahari. I am not using any stock or meat in it but you can as desired, So let's begin 

Quantity of water in rice:
For soaked rice 1 cup water for 1 cup rice
For Unsoaked rice 1.5 cup water for 1 cup rice

Firstly soak the rice in the warm water for 2 hours, take all ingredients, and prepare them all

Boil 6 cups water for adding in the rice

    In the pot heat the oil, add onion slices and saute for 2-3 minutes, then add whole spice, Fry with onion for a minute, then add tomatoes, mix them with onions and whole spices, allow to cook for 2 minutes until tomatoes are soft

      Start to now adding spices and stir to mix well, splash some water if spices are sticking to the base of the pot, then add citric acid, green chilies, and curry leaves, stir them well

      Now add beaten yogurt, stir to mix them until aroma arose, now put peas and potatoes, mix them well for a minute

      Now add water, bring to boil, cover the lid, let them cook till vegetables are soft

        Add soaked and drained rice, stir them well over low-medium heat, then pour hot and boiled water




          Bring to boil and cover the lid, allow to cook them around 5 minutes over medium-high heat till the water has evaporated

          Once the water has evaporated, reduce the heat and sprinkle coriander leaves, simmer it for another 5 minutes over very low heat

          Remove from the heat, and rest it for 5 minutes, after 5 minutes transfer to the serving dish, aloo matar Tahari is ready to serve with raita and saladchutney

            Aloo Matar Tahari s a simple vegetarian one-pot dish, a combination of rice, potato with peas, it is prepared with long grain rice..... 

            Ingredients:
            1. 3 cups, rice basmati/ponia soaked 
            2. 1 large, onion coarsely chopped
            3. 2 medium-sized, tomatoes coarsely chopped
            4. ½ cup, peas frozen/fresh
            5. 3 large-sized, potatoes cut into cubes
            6. 2 tbsp, coriander leaves finely chopped optional
            7. Salt to taste
            8. 100 ml, oil
            9. 1 tsp, red chili powder
            10. ½ tsp, turmeric powder
            11. 1 tsp, coriander powder
            12. ½ tsp, homemade basic garam masala
            13. 3-4, green chilies
            14. 1 tsp, ginger garlic paste freshly ground
            15. 3-4, curry leaves
            16. 1/8 tsp, citric acid
            17. 6 cups, water
            18. 2 tbsp, homemade yogurt can be used any type of yogurt
            19. ½ tsp, cumin seeds
            20. 1, bay leaf
            21. 1/2 tsp, black peppercorn
            22. 2, green cardamom 
            23. 1/2 inch, cinnamon stick
            How to make the Aloo Matar tahari?
            1. Take a large capacity pot
            2. Heat the oil then add onions
            3. Sauté it for 3 minutes then add whole spices
            4. Stir to mix it for a minute
            5. Then add chopped tomatoes
            6. Further, sauté it until tomatoes are dissolved
            7. Now add red chilli,turmeric,coriander powder,salt,citric acid,green chillies,curry leaves,garam masala
            8. Splash the water so if spices are sticking from the base of pot
            9. Stir to mix them
            10. Add yogurt stir to combine well
            11. Now add frozen peas fry them with the spices
            12. Then add potatoes further stir for a minute
            13. Pour 50 ml water bring to boil over high heat
            14. Then let it cook for 10 minutes over low-medium heat or until vegetables are soft
            15. Remove the lid then stir slightly
            16. Now add soaked rice, mix them together
            17. Add 4 cups boiled and hot water for 3 cups rice
            18. At this stage, you can adjust salt
            19. Bring to boil over medium-high heat then cover the lid
            20. Allow to cook for another 5-7 minutes or until water has almost evaporated
            21. Remove the lid
            22. Once the water has evaporated reduce the heat to low
            23. Sprinkle coriander leaves over rice
            24. Simmer it for 5 minutes over very low flame
            25. Aloo Matar tahari is done to serve with raitasalad kabab
