Homemade choco-bar ice cream is a very delicious ice cream that is two a combination of vanilla and chocolate, the recipe is basically vanilla milk cream solid with a thick chocolate coating, this is also the most common and popular recipe and is hugely appreciated by all kinds of age groups but hugely popular with kids because of vanilla and chocolate flavor offering.


Ice cream recipes are always popular in Pakistan, especially during summer or humid seasons. some may prefer the scoop or slab of ice cream in a cone or cup, but others prefer stick-based ice cream like popsicles. choco bar recipe is one such stick-based ice cream prepared mainly with creamy vanilla and chocolate sauce.

The Choco Bar is one of my favorite ice creams ever! I fondly remember my childhood days when I would chase after the ice-cream vendor just to buy it. 😊 Even now, I still love to enjoy it, so I was looking for the perfect recipe online. However, after searching for various Choco Bar recipes, I found them hard to understand. 

 

Since I was aiming for a simple recipe, I ultimately decided to make it my way. Trust me, it's much more convenient to follow your own method and style rather than trying to replicate someone else's. Moreover, it gives you the chance to correct your mistakes and learn along the way. 

 

Making a Choco Bar isn't rocket science, whether you're preparing the inner version or the vanilla flavor. The tricky part can be coating it in chocolate sauce, but if you follow my instructions step-by-step, you'll achieve the same texture and results. I made simple vanilla popsicles and created a magic shell coating for them. Additionally, I added some almonds to make a nutty chocolate bar.

 

I prepared half of the popsicles with plain chocolate sauce and the other half with the nutty chocolate bar, which I made by mixing crushed almonds. Below, you'll find the method along with step-by-step photos.

 

For the best results, be sure to follow my detailed step-by-step instructions and tips!


Recipe notes:

I used popsicle molds to prepare this chocolate bar ice cream by freezing the ice cream first. You can also use silicone ice cream molds and insert ice cream sticks as an alternative option. 

To enhance the chocolate coating, you can sprinkle it with crushed dried fruits. Alternatively, you can mix the crushed dried fruits directly into the chocolate sauce before dipping it in the cream, while the cream is still soft. I added vanilla extract to the milk cream, but this recipe can easily be adapted to other flavors such as mango, butterscotch, or coffee.

Be sure to cool the chocolate sauce slightly to prevent the ice cream from melting while dipping. Additionally, choose dark or milk chocolate based on your preference. Ultimately, chocolate bar ice cream tastes best when made with high-quality chocolate.

In a large mixing bowl, add chilled whipping cream and start whipping the cream.

Until soft peaks appear

Next, add condensed milk.

Mix well using a spatula.a

Then pour chilled milk into the whipped cream. am

Give a good stir to the cream and make sure everything is combined well. Toward the end, add vanilla essence to the ice cream mixture.

Further, mix and then transfer all the mixture to the jug, and then pour into the Popsicle mold.s

Cover with the lid and freeze for 8-10 hours or till it sets completely.

Chop the almonds and set them aside.

Crush the chocolate

Put all the crushed chocolate into the medium-sized bowl. Next, add butter to the chocolate.e

Place the bowl onto the double boiler and make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the wat,er as the chocolate may burn. Keep mixing till the mixture turns smooth and silky.

Transfer the chocolate syrup into a tall glass and allow it to cool slightly.

Take out the popsicle mold from the fridge and leave it for 5 minutes on the slab. Then, remove all ice-creams slowly from the Popsicle mold

Place on butter paper, and put it back in the freezer. The more your ice cream is frozen, the quicker the chocolate coating will dry.

Once they turn again into a frozen state, take them out one by one from the freezer and dip the ice cream into the prepared chocolate sauce, coating them uniformly.

The chocolate bar ice cream will get set in your hands itself; however, you can also freeze it for 30 minutes if served later.

Stir to mix up well

And dip the other ice cream into the nutty chocolate sauce. Keep on holding for a minute and place it on the plate. Place back all prepared chocolate bar ice cream in the freezer for 30-60 minutes or until well set.

  1. 200, whipping cream chilled
  2. 100ml, chilled milk
  3. 100ml, condensed milk
  4. 5-6 drops of vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Sauce:

  1. 350g, dark chocolate crushed
  2. 50g, butter
  3. A handful of crushed almonds
How to Make a Choco Bar at Home?

  8. And then pour into the Popsicle molds
  9. Cover with the lid and freeze for 8-10 hours or till it sets completely

  11. Crush the chocolate and put all the crushed chocolate into the medium-sized bowl.l

  14. For precaution, I used an aluminum steamer plate to keep on top so that water doesn’t reach the bowl.
  15. Keep mixing till the mixture turns smooth and silky
  16. Chocolate should be a pouring consistency 
  17. Transfer the chocolate syrup into a tall glass and allow it to cool slightly.
  18. Take out the popsicle mold from the fridge and leave it for 5 minutes on the slab.
  19. Then, remove all ice-creams slowly from the Popsicle molds
  20. Place on butter paper
