If you've got instant coffee, sugar, and water on hand, you can make this. It'll go by faster if you have a hand mixer, and you'll be rewarded with a nice tall glass of cold, creamy coffee that's sweetened just right. Depending on how much of a caffeine rush you want, this recipe makes enough dalgona fluff for one or two servings. It's delicious but very strong: drink at your own discretion!

WHAT IS DALGONA COFFEE?

Essentially, dalgona coffee is whipped coffee. It is made with 4 simple ingredients – instant coffee, sugar, hot water, and milk.

Coffee, sugar, and hot water are added to a bowl and whisked until it reaches creamy, velvety, and stiff peak status. This whipped coffee is then dolloped onto your choice of cold or warm milk. Done!

The name “dalgona” originates from an old-fashioned Korean street snack, which has a similar taste to honeycomb toffee. The way dalgona is made sort of resembles whipped coffee, so a TV personality named the coffee after that.

But to be fair, whipped coffee is not a new thing. Some say this coffee is just like Frappe or Indian cappuccino served upside down.

Regardless of its origin, whipped coffee is super easy, quick, and fun to make. My family thinks it is way better than some cafe coffee around here. Just saying! Hope you enjoy it

HOW TO STORE?

If you make a large volume of whipped coffee, it can be refrigerated for a few days in an airtight container (without milk). It will dissolve eventually, but it stays stable for a few days at least.

Combine instant coffee

Ingredients:

  1. 2 tbsp, instant coffee
  2. 2 tbsp, sugar
  3. 2 tbsp, hot water
  4. 350ml, hot milk chilled/hot
How to make Dalgona Coffee?

  1. Combine hot water, sugar, and instant coffee in the jar
  2. Mix them well
  3. Then use a handled mixer or stand mixer
  4. Whisk it on high speed until the coffee mixture forms a stiff peak
  5. It will take 2-4 minutes
  6. Keep aside
  7. If you don’t have any of these tools, you can whisk it manually by hand
  8. It still works. just whisk it about 400 times
  9. Heat up the milk in the saucepan
  10. Pour the milk into the long mug
  11. Scoop out the whipped coffee on top of the milk
  12. You can use chilled/hot milk as desired
  13. If you wanna drink chilled coffee to it adds some ice cubes to a mug and then pours the milk
  14. Serve and enjoy!
