Dal Chicken || Chicken Masoor Dal || How to Make Red Lentil Chicken Curry with step-by-step photos
Red lentil chicken curry is a delicious, wholesome, and
high-protein dish that is a perfect blend of masoor dal and chicken to
make a rich and flavorful curry that is made with chicken yakhni along with some
basic spices.
It has another name, Red lentil soup, which contains on
runny consistency. This recipe actually originated in Bombay, India, and I got
this recipe by chance when I visited my former colleague. Her laws belong to Bombay, India- and also learned about her mother-in-law.
I did a variation in this recipe by making spiced stuffed
green chilies that give a little
sourness to the dal chicken curry that I used in tempering; also, this dish has a whole lot of flavor captured in just one pot. The addition of spices has created
complex flavors in the dish. Did you know that the whole Masoor Dal contains a high
level of protein and is also rich in fiber? It also has antioxidant
properties.
Making dal gosht in Pakistani families is very common, just
like moong dal gosht and dal chana gosht, but this recipe is
quite different than those recipes. This is cooked in chicken yakhni, which brings a unique taste to this curry; it goes well with boiled
rice. It goes well with bagara rice
and zeera rice. Just try it once, and I
believe all of you will love this recipe.
