Kofta is a spicy, flavored, and delicious meatball based on thick gravy, tasty, and mouth-watering traditional Meatball Curry with its perfect blend of rich and aromatic spices.
I am gonna share with all a traditional kofta recipe, probably you will have eaten and cooked kofta several times in your lives its preparation method is a bit different from other koftas because you neither add any poppy seed nor roasted chickpeas

It is simply quite an easy and juicy meatballs that my grandmother and mother used to cook, unique and different recipe of kofta 

Which main ingredients are added to this Kofta recipe?
The main ingredients are a bit amount of boiled chana dal, grind onions spices, and mince
I am using ground meat/mince you can use mutton and lamb as well additionally you can add boiled eggs as desired

Tips:
  1. Don't add more roasted chana/chana dal your meatballs may become hard
  2. Using ghee makes delicious and aromatic curry than oil
  3. You can slightly fry meatballs before adding in gravy this trick preserves juice inside 
  4. Don't stir your spoon too much while meatballs are cooking with gravy

Firstly wash the mince under the running water in the strainer keep aside

Boil the chana dal

Peel and cut onions ginger and garlic

In the grinding jug add onion, ginger, and garlic, grind them into smooth paste keep aside

Cut the ginger into thin slices

    Chop coriander leaves and green chilies

    In the chopper, mixture add ginger, coriander, and green chilies, grind them together coarsely, now add mince along with boiled chana dal, chop them till turn to smooth paste

    Transfer to another bowl

    Boil the water in the saucepan

    In the pot heat the oil, add dried fenugreek seeds, let it crackle for a minute

    Now add onion paste to the oil, cook onion paste on medium flame

    Meantime take a small bowl to add yogurt and all dried ingredients except garam masala, Mix them well

    Cook the onion paste until water dries up

      Add Spiced yogurt mix with onion paste, now stir to mix well then cover the lid

      Allow to cook it over low-medium heat till oil is separated, Reduce the heat to low

        Now you can see the water has evaporated from the spice, once started bubbling in the gravy take out 2 tbsp onion spices for adding ground meat

        Meantime in the ground meat add yogurt, and cooked onion spices to the ground meat

        Add some salt along with 2 tbsp oil to the ground meat

        Mix them well and knead ground meat to a soft dough for 5 minutes until everything is incorporated 


        Apply some oil to the palm, and shape it into tennis sized ball

        I made 10 medium-sized meatballs from 300g mince, and place them on the plate to make all meatballs

          The gravy is looking thick, has to add 1 cup of boiled and hot water, bring it to boil



          Place all meatballs in the gravy, and allow to cook meatballs, Just shake up the kofta curry with a rough cloth or kitchen towel
          Cover the lid and allow to cook for 10-15 minutes over low-medium heat

          After 10-15 minutes you will see gravy is getting thick, check the meatballs tenderness

            Add hot and boiled water, as much as you want to keep thick or thin gravy in the kofta curry

            Bring it to boil, now add green chilies, grated ginger, and basic garam masala

              Then add coriander leaves fresh/frozen whatever you have available

                Cover the lid, keep simmering for around 15 minutes over very low heat

                After 15 minutes turn off the heat, transfer to the serving bowl

                  Now Kofta curry is ready to serve with chapati,rumali roti,naan,bagara rice with salad, and raita

                  1. 2 medium.onions
                  2. The 1-inch piece, ginger chopped
                  3. 3-4, garlic cloves peeled and chopped
                  4. Salt to taste
                  5. 1 tsp, red chili powder
                  6. 1/3 tsp, turmeric powder
                  7. ½ tsp, coriander powder
                  8. ½ tsp, red chili flakes
                  9. 1/2 tsp, dried fenugreek seeds 
                  10. ½ tsp, basic garam masala
                  11. 3 tbsp, homemade yogurt beaten
                  12. 1 tbsp, grated ginger
                  13. 1 cup, of cooking oil
                  14. 2 tbsp, fresh coriander leaves chopped
                  15. 3-4 green chilies
                  Ingredients for Kofta Balls:
                  1. 300g, beef mince/ground meat
                  2. 1 tbsp, chana dal boiled
                  3. 3-4, green chilies
                  4. ¼ cup, coriander leaves fresh/frozen
                  5. 1 inch, ginger
                  6. 1 tbsp, cooking oil
                  How to Make the Kofta Recipe?
                  1. In the pot heat the oil
                  2. Then add dried fenugreek seeds
                  3. Let it crackle for a minute
                  4. Now add onion garlic ginger paste
                  5. Stir them well till oil is separated
                  6. Meanwhile in the small bowl add yogurt, red chili powder, turmeric, salt,garam masala, and coriander powder along with a little water
                  7. Mix them together very well 
                  8. Then put the onion paste
                  9. Let it cook until water has evaporated from the onion paste and is started bubbling on top
                  10. Take 2 tbsp cooked onion spices,2 tbsp oil, and a bit of salt with yogurt
                  11. Then add to the ground meat, mix them together
                  12. Note: you can add onion spices according to kofta meat quantity
                  13. Knead the ground meat into a soft dough
                  14. Note, Oil, and yogurt will keep soft and juicy meatballs
                  15. Shape into a tennis-sized ball or as desired
                  16. It depends on you how to want to keep the size of the meatballs
                  17. Place on the plate and keep aside
                  18. Meantime add ¼ cup of water to the spice
                  19. Bring it to boil then place all meatballs in the onion spice
                  20. Let it cook for 10 minutes to cover the lid over medium-low heat till water dries out from the spice
                  21. Note, don’t stir with a spoon while meatballs are cooking otherwise meatballs may be shredded 
                  22. Just shake up the pot with a kitchen towel
                  23. Once the water dries up and the oil is separated
                  24. You add I cup of the boil and hot water to the pot
                  25. How much you wanna keep the thick and thin gravy of kofta gravy it's up to you
                  26. Bring it to boil then add ginger slices, green chilies, and coriander leaves
                  27. Allow to simmer it for 15 minutes over a low flame
                  28. At this stage you can add a boiled egg as desired I haven’t added eggs 
                  29. Now remove from the heat
                  30. Transfer to the serving bowl
                  31. Now kofta curry is done to serve with rumali rotichapati, naan, or bagara rice with salad or raita
                  32. Note don’t use more salt in the kofta meat because in the onion spice we added salt as well
