Kofta Kadhi || Kofta Recipe || How to Make Kadhi Recipe with Step-by-Step photos
Kadhi Kofta is a thick yellow gravy-based curry, in which
fritters are dipped and then given to tempering with oil and curry leaves along
with red chilies, Basically, It is a mixture of yogurt with gram flour along
with basic spices.
That is cooked on flame for more than an hour then added gram
fritters or lentil dumplings and lastly tempering So we have got you a
delicious and unique recipe that would definitely be a treat to your taste
buds which is kofta kadhi.
Here I used beef mince to make meatballs, you can use mutton
or lamb mince I wouldn’t prefer using chicken meat to make it as they are not as tasty
as beef or mutton. The procedure of making kofta kadhi is quite easy and even a
learner or amateur can easily prepare it, to prepare this recipe first is cooked
yogurt gram flour mixture, though it takes a long time to be cooked the
taste of this is delicious after being prepared.
Additionally, fried meatballs can be had plain without
dipping in kadhi, these meatballs are super soft and succulent in taste and is
used and eaten also with only dal chawal or bread.

To prepare this recipe firstly collect all ingredients and
prepare all veggies.
Combine all chopped veggies onion, coriander leaves, green
chilies, ginger, and gram flour with mince.
Stir to mix them together then add powdered spices.
Put them together in a food processor and chop them
until well-grounded.
Combine the yogurt with gram flour in a deep bowl.
Whisk them together using a whisk then add powdered spices, stir to combine well using a whisk till the mixture is
smooth and lumps-free then add water further mix well.
Heat the mustard oil on high heat reduce the heat to low-medium, and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and dried fenugreek seeds to the oil, When they crackle.
Add yogurt gram flour mixture to the oil, Stir to combine well on high heat, and Constantly keep on stirring on high heat until boiled well, Once it starts boiling then reduce the flame.
Let it cook on medium-low flame for an hour, keep on stirring occasionally, Meantime add salt, and further allow cooking until aroma has arisen.
Heat the oil on medium flame, Meanwhile, add 1 tsp oil to the ground meat then knead it like
a dough, Then give them a tennis-sized ball shape, and press firmly each meatball in a fist, It will prevent broken meatballs during cooking frying.
Prepare all meatballs and place them on a plate keep them aside.
Now start frying kofta for 2-3 minutes on medium-low flame.
Once they turn brown drain them all onto a plate
Fry all remaining meatballs set aside.
Drop the fried meatballs into the kadhi and further cook them
with meatballs for around 30 minutes on low-medium flame.
How much want to keep the consistency of kadhi depends on your
choice, Turn off the flame and remove the pot from the stove.
Heat the oil and add cumin seeds. Button red chilies and
curry leaves, When they crackle
Put into the kadhi kofta

Kadhi kofta can be served with plain boiled rice and chapattis.

Ingredients For Kadhi:
- 250g, homemade
yogurt
- 4 tbsp, gram flour
- 1 liter, of water
- 1 tsp, red chili powder
- 1 tsp, red chili flakes
- 1 tsp, coriander powder
- 1 tsp, turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 50ml, mustard oil/cooking oil
- 1/8 tsp, dried fenugreek seeds
- 1/8 tsp, brown mustard seeds
- 1/8 tsp, cumin seeds
For Meatballs:
- 250g, minced/ground meat
- 1 handful, of coriander leaves
- 2-3 pcs, green chilies
- ½ cup, onion chopped
- 1 ½ tbsp, gram flour roasted
- 1 tsp, ginger garlic paste
- I tsp, red chili powder
- 1 tbsp, coriander powder
- ½ tsp, salt
- 1/3 tsp, turmeric powder
- ½ tsp,garam
masala
- 200ml, cooking oil
For Tempering:
- ½ tsp, cumin seeds
- 8-9, fresh curry leaves
- 4-5 pcs, button red chilies
How to make the Kadhi Kofta?
- Combine all chopped veggies onion, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger, and gram flour with the mince.
- Stir to mix them together then add powder spices red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt, and garam masala.
- Put them together into the food processor and chop them until well-grounded.
- Combine the yogurt with gram flour in a deep bowl.
- Whisk them together using a whisk then add red chili powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder.
- Stir to combine well using a whisk till the mixture is smooth and lumps-free
- Then add water, further mix well
- Heat the oil on a medium flame
- Meanwhile, add 1 tsp oil to the ground meat then knead it like a dough
- Then give them a tennis-sized ball shape
- Press firmly each meatball in a fist
- It will prevent broken meatballs during cooking and frying
- Prepare all meatballs and place them on a plate keep them aside

- Heat the mustard oil on high heat then put some onion then burn them to remove the sharpness of the mustard oil.
- Remove from the oil
- Reduce the heat to low-medium
- You can use any type of cooking oil or olive oil instead of mustard oil if you don't like the taste of it.
- Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and dried fenugreek seeds to the oil
- When they crackle add the yogurt gram flour mixture to the oil
- Stir to combine well on high heat
- Constantly keep on stirring on high heat until boiled well
- Once it started boiling then reduce the flame
- Let it cook on medium-low flame for an hour
- Keep on stirring occasionally
- Meantime add salt and further allow cooking until the aroma has arisen
- At this stage adjust the salt in the Kadhi
- Drop the fried meatballs into the kadhi and further cook them with meatballs for around 30 minutes on low-medium flame
- How much want to keep the consistency of Kadhi depends on your choice
- Turn off the flame and remove the pot from the stove
- Heat the oil and add cumin seeds. button red chilies and curry leaves
- When they crackle put them into the kadhi kofta
- Kadhi kofta is done to serve
- Kadhi kofta can be served with plain boiled rice and chapattis
