Pav Kabab Recipe | Pav Kabab || How to make pav bread kebab with step-by-step photos.......v bread kabab is basically it is known as a street food snack, a delicious and craving snack which is fondly eaten especially in Karachi so cheap price everyone can buy easily at the time of inflation, very tasty and delicious and is served with tangy and spicy sauce, additionally, you can only also make aloo dal kebab with sauce and can be served with paratha and rotis as well......
I have shared green sauce already and am now sharing the complete pav kebab sauce recipe
Preparation of Dal Aloo Kabab:
- Firstly properly wash and soak the chana dal in hot water for 2 hours set aside
- Peel and cut the potatoes and put them in the water so that they couldn’t be black
- Peel and chop the garlic in half
- Chop the ginger into slices
- Whisk the egg very well to add some salt and crushed black pepper until fluffy Set aside
- Chop the coriander and green chillies
In the pot add soaked chana dal with spices, Mix them together well, then add a little water if needed
Then add potatoes, stir them well, and allow to cook another 10-15 minutes to cover the lid over low-medium heat. Once the water evaporated from the dal aloo mixture. Turn off the flame, and let it cool down. Meanwhile, start preparation of pav bread dough
Sift the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl, then add yeast and sugar to the flour, mix them
Add salt and milk powder, and mix them again, Now
crack the egg and mix it with the spatula, until turns to a crumble texture
Start kneading the dough with warm water till turns soft dough turn it onto the working surface, and keep kneading first for 10 minutes
Then put butter/margarine over the dough, give it another 5 minutes more to get a soft and elastic dough, and place
the dough in a greased bowl by covering the lid for resting about 3-4 hours, If
needed can some oil over the dough. keep it in a warm place to raise the dough properly
In the food processor, machine put the dal aloo mixture together, then ground them till turns fine paste_Knead the kabab dough for a minute and then adjust the salt if needed, add chopped coriander and green chillies mix well
Make equal-sized balls of the kabab dough, flatten one ball between your palm, and give it to shape into the medium kebab keep in the fridge.......
After passing 4 hours you will see the dough has risen enough, take the dough out and punch it down for 2-3 minutes
Divide the small equal portion of For dough, I made 8 equal small balls from 2 cups of flour, shaped into a small ball
Place the balls in the 10*10 square non-stick baking pan
Note: if you have a rectangular baking pan you can even use it for baking pav bread. Now cover the dough balls with the kitchen towel, and rest them again
for 30 minutes until double in size, meanwhile turn on the oven at 250 C for a half-hour
After rising the dough apply some milk and egg wash over the dough balls, then Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes at 200c
Meantime heat the oil in a frying pan, dip
the kebab into the egg batter
Slide it into the frying pan, which can fry 3-4 kebabs at a time, and fry each side for 2-3 minutes, Flip the kebab and fry the other side until you get a nice golden brown colour, place all the kebabs on a pepper kitchen towel to remove excessive oil from them
After baking the pav remove it from the pan to the wires rack to cool down, soft and spongy pav bread is ready to serve with kebab and sauce
Note: during baking, I found an error in the oven that's why could not come golden brown colour but you take it out when the colour becomes the nice golden brown colour of pav bread
Place fresh pav bread with kebab and sauce on the serving plate, can be served with ketchup and French fries as well

- 2 medium, potatoes
- 10-12, whole red chillies
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp, black peppercorn
- 1 tbsp, ginger
- 1 tsp, garlic
- 1 tsp, whole coriander seeds
- 1 tsp, cumin seeds
- 1-inch, cinnamon stick
- 2, cloves
- 1, green cardamom
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp, coriander and green chillies optional
Ingredients of Pav Bread Dough:
- 2 cups, of all-purpose flour
- ¼, cup, of milk powder
- 4 tbsp or 100g, margarine/butter melted at room temperature
- 1 tbsp, sugar
- 1 large, egg
- Warm water, as required for kneading
- ½ tsp, salt
- 1 tsp, instant yeast
- ½ tsp, baking soda
- Pav bread sauce, as needed
How to make Pav Bread Kababs?
- In the pot add soaked chana dal with its water
- Then add whole red chillies,ginger-garlic, cumin, coriander seeds, cloves, green cardamom, black peppercorn and salt
- Mix them together well
- Then add a little water if needed
- Bring it to a boil and cover the lid
- Let it cook till half-done over medium flame
- Then add potatoes, Stir them well
- Allow cooking another 10-15 minutes to cover the lid over low-medium heat
- Once the water evaporated from the dal aloo mixture
- Turn off the flame, and let it cool down
- Meanwhile, start preparation of pav bread dough
- Sift the flour and baking powder in a medium bowl
- Then add yeast and sugar to the flour, Mix them
- Add salt and milk powder, Mix them again
