Aloo Chana Masala| Chana Masala Powder || How to make aloo chana masala powder with step-by-step photos
Aloo chana masala powder is an aromatic, spicy and flavoured spice of the blend which makes tasty and delicious your aloo chana curry, this is spicy in taste, and rarely available in the market, so I thought I could make it at home first, amazing taste of my homemade spice which is thousand times better than store-bought spice
I prepared this blend with some whole spices along with powder spices such as coriander seeds, cumin, black pepper, fennel seeds, red chilli flakes, turmeric powder, and mango powder I made a little effort to make this process, May Allah you all like it

Firstly dry roast whole spices in a pan for a minute on low flame except for nigella
Put roasted spices in the grinder jar except for nigella, then coarsely grind them, avoid grinding them in powder form shift to another medium-sized bowl
Dry roast nigella for 30 seconds and keep aside until required
Now mix powder spices with roasted ground spices and mix them together very well
Now ready aloo chana tarkari masala to use in a recipe
This is an aromatic, spicy and flavoured spice of the blend which makes it tasty and delicious for your aloo chana curry
Ingredients:
- 3 tbsp, crushed red chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp, turmeric powder
- 1 ½ tbsp, whole coriander seeds lightly roasted and crushed
- 1 tsp, mango powder amchur
- 1 tsp, salt
- 1 tsp, fennel seeds lightly roasted and crushed
- ½ tsp, nigella seeds lightly roasted not to crush
- ½ tsp, white cumin seeds lightly roasted
- 1/3 tsp, black peppercorn, freshly crushed optional
- 1/2 tsp, black salt
- 3 pinches, citric acid
How to make Aloo Chana Masala Powder?
- Firstly dry roast coriander seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds and black peppercorn in a pan for a minute on low flame
- Put roasted coriander, cumin, fennel seeds, and black peppercorn in the grinder jar except for nigella
- Then coarsely grind them, avoid grinding them in powder form, and shift to the medium-sized bowl
- Dry roast nigella in a pan for 30 seconds and keep aside until required
- Now add turmeric powder, black salt, salt, mango powder, nigella, crushed red chilli flakes and citric acid
- Now Mix powdered spices with roasted ground spices together very well
- Now ready aloo chana tarkari masala to use in a recipe
- Now you can store it in an airtight jar/bottle for more than a month
