It’s the way we cook potatoes mostly that makes them healthy or unhealthy just like so many other foods. I simply love the versatility, I mean you can always add potatoes in any recipe and make a meal or snack out of it.

Whenever I want to make a quick sandwich, I simply add some potatoes to them. We all are potato lovers, aren’t we? Potato is one such vegetable that every kid loves to munch on. Not only kids but potatoes are also loved by people of all age group. Potatoes can actually be added in literally any recipe one can think of. Potatoes can either be baked, fried or boiled!
When we have nothing to cook then aloo ki katlian is the best option for us with parathas or chapatis goes well with this dish in breakfast or lunch/dinner

We need:

Preparation of making  aloo katliyan: 
Peel and cut the potatoes into a thick round shape, thoroughly rinse them and keep in the water to prevent blackishly

Take all ingredients and prepare them all

Firstly Cook the mustard oil on high heat until well heated

Heat both oils by mixing, Put onion slices and green chillies together

Saute onion slices along with green chillies

Put potatoes slices and fry with onion and green chillies, add tomatoes and stir to mix well

Now put all dry masala powder into the pot,

Stir to combine well until well-roasted aloo katliyan with masala, Pour 1/2 cup water to the aloo then stir to mix well

Bring it to boil and cover the lid let it cook about 10 minutes

After a few minutes put coriander leaves and stir to mix well

Simmer it further 5-10 minutes till oil is separated

Transfer to the serving bowl, tasty aloo katliyan is ready to serve

Ingredients:
  1. 500g,potatoes thick sliced
  2. 50g,cooking oil
  3. 50g,mustard oil
  4. 1 medium,onions thinly sliced
  5. 2 mediums,tomatoes chopped
  6. 3-4, large green chillies
  7. ¼ bunch,fresh coriander leaves chopped
Powder Spices:
  1. 1 tsp,red chilli powder
  2. 1 tsp,crushed red chilli powder
  3. Salt to taste
  4. ½ tsp,turmeric powder
  5. 1 tbsp,crushed coriander powder
  6. ½ tsp,black peppercorn powder
  7. 1 tsp,crushed cumin powder
How to make aloo katli?
Instructions:
  1. Pour both cooking and mustard oils to the pot/pan
  2. Heat them well and put onion slices with green chilies
  3. Sauté them for 4-5 minutes on medium flame
  4. Reduce the flame to low and then add potatoes to the onion fry them with onion and chillies for 2 minutes,right after add chopped and peeled potatoes stir to mix well
  5. Keep mixing well by adding red chilli powder,crushed red chilli powder,coriander powder,turmeric powder,crushed cumin seeds,black peppercorn and salt
  6. Pour ½ cup hot and boiled water,bring it to boil
  7. Cover the lid and allow to cook around 10 minutes on medium-low flame or depends on potatoes quality
  8. After 2-3 minutes remove the lid and add chopped coriander leaves over aloo katli
  9. Simmer it for 5-10 minutes over very low heat until oil is separated
  10. Turn off the flame and transfer to the serving bowl  
  11. Aloo katliyan is ready to serve....
  12. Aloo katliyan can be served with paratha,chapatis,rotis,naan
