Chocolate syrup is sold in a variety of consistencies, ranging from a thin liquid that can be drizzled from a bottle to a thick sauce that needs to be spooned onto the dessert item.

Chocolate syrup is also used to top puddings and cakes. Some restaurants use an artistic drizzling of chocolate syrup to decorate servings of cheesecake or cake, along with other decorations such as cocoa powder, powdered sugar, or chocolate shavings. How to make home chocolate syrup?

Homemade chocolate syrup is prepared with few ingredients to combine milk, cocoa powder, and butter





We need:

In a saucepan add butter 




Combine milk and butter in the saucepan



Now add cocoa powder



Add sugar 



Put cornflour 



Whisk them well with a whisker till everything is incorporated
 


    Let it cook for 15 minutes over low-medium flame 


    You can see in the below picture chocolate syrup has started to thicken, remove from the heat and let it cool down completely in the pan



    Now transfer to the bowl/jar

      1. 1 tbsp, butter
      2. 3 tbsp, cocoa powder
      3. 1 cup, milk
      4. 1/3 cup, sugar
      5. 1 tsp, cornflour
      How to make the syrup?
      1. Take a saucepan/pan
      2. Place on the stove
      3. Combine milk, butter, sugar, and cornflour
      4. Give a good stir with the whisk
      5. Then add cocoa powder and cornflour
      6. Now stir to combine
      7. And make sure all lumps are broken up
      8. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes until the syrup starts to thicken
      9. Keep stirring occasionally
      10. Remove from the heat
      11. Let it cool down completely in the pan
      12. Then transfer to the jar for storage
      13. Keep in the refrigerator
      14. Note: if you want thinner syrup, just microwave for about 30-45 seconds to make pourable
