Bitter gourd (karela) has a bitter taste and most people don’t relish the same, however, there is no denying the fact that the bitter gourd is a powerhouse of various essential vitamins and minerals it has a host of health-benefiting properties that can possibly keep many diseases, a lot of people like bitter gourd only in the of bhara karela (stuffed bitter gourd)
I make sure if you are one of those who are afraid of having this wonder veggie due to its bitter taste, then here is an easy solution for the same that would solve your problem forever you can easily use it with dal, vegetables, and meat
So you just need to know how to easily remove the bitterness of karela,
Personally, I did an experiment several times but always failed but I kept trying Alhamdulillah this method worked and I was successful. So I thought I should share my experiment with others too. I will make keema bhara karela so I didn’t take a slice of it but if you want to use karela such as karela daal, karela pyaz, karela chicken, etc. you first cut the slices of karela then you do the same process that I will tell you next with step by step photos

How to Remove Bitterness of Karela:
Firstly scrape off the surface of the bitter gourd. cut in the center of karela and extract all the seeds out of a bitter gourd

Sprinkle salt over karela and Rub them from inside and outside very well and leave them about 10-15 minutes, keep rubbing them occasionally, and now put in the hot boiling water
Bring it to boil once then instantly remove from the flame, leave them in the hot water for about 15 minutes more, and keep rubbing them occasionally
After 15 minutes squeeze the karela well and rinse it under the running water and place it on the strainer, now bitterness is removed from the karela and it is ready to use in the recipe

- 500g, bitter gourds
- 100g, salt
- 1 liter, of water
Tools Required:
- Scratcher cutter
- knife
- colander
- plenty water
How to Remove Bitterness Of Bitter Gourd?
- First, you scrape off the surface of the bitter gourd
- After scraping it just cut in the center of karela and extract all the seeds out of a bitter gourd
- Sprinkle enough salt over karela and apply salt from inside and outside very well
- Leave the bitter gourd for 10-15 minutes
- On the other hand, boil the water in the saucepan
- After 5 minutes rub karela and leave it again for 5 minutes
- Now drop bitter gourds into the hot boiling water
- Bring it to a boil then instantly remove it from the flame
- Leave Karela in the hot water for 15 minutes more
- Now squeeze well into the bitter gourd and rinse them under the running water very well
- Place on the strainer and pat them
- From this easy method bitterness of karela goes away
- Now Bitter gourd is ready to use in the recipe
