Kaleji Bun Kabab is a delicious, tasty, spicy wholesome snack, this recipe can be had any time of the day, It is known as the famous street food of Karachi, and this snack is mostly available at vendors or carts. it is a very popular snack as well as healthy and full of nutrition, one kaleji bun burger is enough to have at one time, you will not feel like to have more than one because that liver is loaded with minerals and iron
The liver contains
a lot of minerals, vitamins, and iron which is why it feels heavy after eating I am
preparing kaleji bun in beef you can use mutton, chicken lamb whatever you want

Cut kaleji into small pieces and wash the Kaleji thoroughly
under running water so that all blood could be removed very well from them
Place a skillet on the stove and slightly dry roast
coriander seeds, cumin, and black peppercorn
Then crushed in a mixing bowl
Soak the tamarind in the hot water for an hour then strain the tamarind
water and extract all seeds from the pulp
In a mixing bowl put kaleji along with all spices, mix them well and keep in the fridge for marination for about 40-60 minutes
Heat the oil in
the pot/pan and put marinated kaleji in the pot
Note, if you are cooking chicken liver then you can marinate it for 30 minutes
Stir to mix it on medium to high flame for 3 minutes, then add dried fenugreek and salt keep stirring on low-medium flame until oil is separated from kaleji masala
Pluck and wash all coriander, mint leaves, garlic, and
green chilies then chop them
In the grinder, jar put all ingredients then blend them together till
turn into a smooth and fine paste then mix with beaten yogurt
We required for making buns:
Heat the tawa then pour 1 tbsp oil
Cut the buns into two pieces place on hot tawa, lightly toast buns from both sides, and remove from the flame, place on any tray or plate, now apply some green sauce over bun slices
Now ready to serve with hot tea or coffee
Note: You can add tomato ketchup, cucumber even lettuce as desired, I haven’t cucumber at this time which is why I didn’t add

- 250g, beef liver
- 1 tbsp, ginger garlic paste, freshly ground
- 2 tbsp, lemon juice
- 1 tbsp, red chill flakes
- ½ tbsp, coriander seeds lightly roasted
- ¼ tbsp, cumin seed slightly roasted
- 1 tsp, black peppercorn
- 1/3 cup, homemade yogurt
- 1 tbsp, papaya paste
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp, dried fenugreek
- ½ cup, olive oil/canola oil
For Bun Chutney:
- ½ bunch, of fresh coriander, leaves chopped
- ½ bunch, of fresh mint, leaves chopped
- 4-6, green chilies coarsely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1 large, green/red tomato coarsely chopped
- 1 tsp, cumin seeds
- 2 tbsp, homemade yogurt beaten
- 2 tbsp, tamarind pulp soaked in the hot water
- 3 cloves, of garlic, peeled
For Kaleji Bun:
- 4 pieces, homemade bun burger
- ½ cup, onion thinly sliced
- ½ cup, cucumber thinly sliced optional
- 5 tbsp, bun chutney
- 1 cup, of beef kaleji
- Oil, as required
How to make kaleji Bun Kabab?
- In a mixing bowl put kaleji, ginger garlic paste, papaya paste, red chili flakes, roasted and ground coriander, cumin, black peppercorn, lemon juice along with yogurt
- Mix them well
- And keep in the fridge for marination for about 40-60 minutes
- Heat the oil in the pot/pan, and put marinated kaleji in the pot
- Stir to mix it on medium-high flame for 3 minutes, then
- Add dried fenugreek and salt keep stirring on low-medium flame until oil is separated from kaleji masala
- Now beef kaliji is done for making kaleji bun
- In the grinder jar put coriander, mint leaves together garlic cloves, salt, tomato, tamarind pulp green chili, and cumin seeds,
- Blend them together till turn into a smooth and fine paste then mix with beaten yogurt
- Heat the Tawa then pour 1 tbsp oil
- Cut the buns into two pieces and place them on hot Tawa,
- Slightly toast buns from both sides,
- Remove from the flame, and place on any tray or plate,
- Now apply some green sauce over bun slices
- Now put 1 tbsp beef kaleji masala on a bun then add some onion and drizzle some chutney on top, then place another bun slice on top of kaleji onion mixture, cut into two/four pieces
- Now ready to serve with hot tea or coffee
