Besan roti | Gram Flour Roti is a spicy traditional flatbread,which is a quick and easy pakistani flatbread,tasty and soft,it can be eaten with curry or you can enjoy at any meal  or make them for party or get together
I have customized this besan ki roti (flatbread)by mixing gram flour (besan)with some wheat flour
This mixed flour version is much easier to make healthier and lighter on the tummy

Gram flour is considered a heavier flour to digest,hence eating pure gram flour  rotis at times makes you feel extremely heavy or over full,to enhance the taste are added onion,green chilli,coriander leaves,dry pomegranate seeds,whole coriander
Besan roti is served with garlic sauce,raita,curry(salan)
I often cook this roti in winter season,and have it with chutney or curry easy to make,so let’s bread with step by step photos…

Preparation of making besan roti:
To prepare this recipe first take all ingredients and prepare all veggies

Put whole spices like coriander and cumin seeds,pomegranate seeds and black peppercorn,dry roast them on low flame for 2 minutes,put them into grinder jar and grind to make coarse powder

Kneading the dough:
In a bowl add gram flour with wheat flour,turmeric powder and salt and mix them together

Then add spices,stir to mix well 
                                              


Now put baking soda along with chopped veggies

And stir to mix well then pour oil to the dry flour mixture

Mix them well until everything is incorporated,Now pour a little water and mix it in a rotating motion from the center of a bowl to outward until it form dough and clean the sides of the bowl

Dough seems to be sticky knead it with some oil and flour

Make a ball and put back into a bowl,and Keep aside for resting about 15 minutes



Rolling besan roti:
Preheat the tava (cast iron flat griddle) on medium flame,take some extra flour in a plate for dusting
Knead the dough again with oily hands for a minute and roughly divide the dough into equal parts(ball size depends how thick you want to make the roties),Place the ball of  dough into flour and press flat,dusting on both size

Now place the ball of dough on rolling board and roll out the chapati with the help of rolling pin,about 5 to 6 inch in a round shape

Cooking besan roti:
Place the roti on preheat skillet,let it cook  on low to medium flame,one side little bubble start appearing flip the roti and turn over the other side,keep flame low to medium otherwise it will be burn or remain uncooked from inside.

Cook the roti until light golden brown color at both sides,roti is done

Now transfer to the tray or any other plate,and apply some butter or ghee on cooked roti,besan ki roti is done

Besan roti | chickpea flour roti is a spiced traditional flatbread,which is a quick and an easy pakistani flatbread..
Ingredients: 
  1. 1 1/2 cup or 300g,gram flour                                         
  2. 1/2 cup or 100g,wheat flour                                        
  3. 1 tsp,crushed red chilli               
  4. 1/2 tsp,cumin seeds            
  5. 1 tsp,whole coriander seeds   crushed
  6. 1 tsp,black peppercorn  freshly crushed
  7. Salt, to taste
  8. 2-3 pinches,baking soda
  9. Ghee/butter,as required 
  10. 1 small,onion  finely chopped
  11. 1/4 tsp,turmeric powder         
  12. 2 tbsp,oil                      
  13. 1 tsp,dry pomegranate seeds  crushed
  14. 1 tbsp,coriander leaves                           
  15. 2-3,green chillies finely chopped
Instructions:
  1. In a bowl add gram flour with wheat flour with salt and turmeric powder and mix them together  
  2. Then add crushed red chilli powder,roasted ground powder and mix well

  4. And stir to mix well then pour oil to the dry flour mixture
